My Background |
I was born in California, but I have also lived in Hawaii, Utah, Colorado, Massachusetts, Georgia and England. I moved to Katy two years ago from just outside of Atlanta where I lived for fifteen years. I have a B.A in Anthropology from UCLA, a B.S in Science Education and Technology from Kennesaw State, a Masters' of Education with a Minor in Curriculum and Assessment and Technology from the University of Phoenix. Currently, I am completing my PhD in Educational Psychology at Capella University. I have been teaching for 12 years. I am a life-long learner and always continue to take classes in my field to make my classroom a challenging, engaging, rigorous, and fun place to learn and grow.
I am a Whovian (can you tell by the Tardis?) If you don't know what Dr. Who is, you will. I love to read, paint and draw, and I watch a lot of T.V. Favorite shows (other than Dr.Who) Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, NCIS, The Blacklist, Downton Abbey, Chuck, Community and anything Star Trek. I love coffee, Chai, and all kinds of cheese. I collect tea pots, snow globes, and masks from around the world. I enjoy coloring mandala's, meditation, and exploring Pinterest. I have four boys, two at SLHS, one at BDJH, and one at Griffin Elementary, and one daughter attending GA TECH for her Master's degree. I love teaching because I love being in the classroom guiding and facilitating science so kids can find out how truly amazing science can be. I have taught Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science and Science is my passion and I am so lucky to be teacher at BDJH. Welcome to my classroom, I know we will have a great year! |
