Unit Summary 

In this unit students will identify the main functions and structures of the respiratory, skeletal, circulatory, muscular, and integumentary systems. Students will identify accommodations needed for manned space exploration. Also, students will explore situations where the body does work and include simple calculations. 

Essential Questions

  • What is the main function of the respiratory, circulatory, skeletal, muscular, and integumentary systems?
  • What is work and how is it calculated?
  • What characteristics on Earth allow life to exist?
  • What characteristics or accommodations are needed for human survival in outer space?
